A letter to Mr Trump

Sorry Mr Trump but your recent tweet comparing covid 19 to the common flu reflects badly in your capacity as a leader of the country. Do you mean to say, you need to see more deaths (current at 22) for Covid-19 before the country would do something on it ?

Does this 22 deaths mean something to the country ? I don't know but as a parent , I will be heartbroken and devastated if one of them is my child or family member. Their lives are just as important as everyone else.

Pressuring the Feds to lower interest rates further is not going to help, not just the stock market but also the thousands and thousands of people who are affected by this virus. In a way, their daily lives are inconvenienced , now that they have to wear mask, get temperature check, wash hands often, beware of the person beside them, watch out for anyone sneezing or coughing . Oh my god, the level of stress and anxiety has never been this high , man !

Offer tax cuts , rental rebates to the almost bankrupt retailers, perhaps a one-off incentives to transport sector and a bonus to the healthcare people who works round the clock. If US will to follow what Italy is doing with a city lockdown, it is beyond imagination. This will choke up the entire ecosystem and everything affects everything. It is THAT serious !

By right, when China was facing lots of finger pointing when the virus breakout followed by several Asian countries, I thought US being a forward looking country would learn the lesson well. A contingency plan of sort would have been mapped out.

At least the stockpile of daily necessities to be ramp up in production before the aisle starts to run out and shoppers panicked to snatch toilet paper (again , seriously?) or wielding a knife to threaten it.

Yes, we love to shake hands with you despite you going against the health experts saying not to. You show the world that you are confident and there is nothing to fear. That is setting a good example, allaying unnecessary fear and uncertainty. But , beyond that level, get your team to brainstorm on some solid ideas to help the people. After all, you said you wanted to make America great again.

People not only watch your words but they look at your actions as well.
